OPT in Germany starts contest "The Whisperer of Whales 2019"


The Office of Tourism Promotion ( OPT ) of the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic ( Mitur ) in Germany,   started the contest for the ninth edition of its On-line action "The Whisperer of Whales 2019", where the winner will live an unforgettable experience of stay of three to four weeks in the peninsula of Samaná .

People with great interest for the conservation of the environment, coming from Germany, Austria and Switzerland can send their applications to participate in the contest.

This action is carried out in collaboration with the partners Whale Samaná, Center for the Conservation and Ecodevelopment of the Bay of Samaná and its surroundings ( Cebse ) and the German Tour Operator " Meier's Weltreisen .

The contest is aimed at those who wish to be ambassadors of humpback whales between January and March 2019 and communicate on social networks about the diversity of the Dominican Republic .

Petra Cruz, director of OPT Germany, said that "the on-line campaign` The Whale Whisperer` is unique in the tourism industry. Together with our partners we have been making a significant contribution to the protection of humpback whales in the Bay of Samaná for nine years and we present the Dominican Republic as a destination for ecological tourism. We are very proud to start the ninth edition and we are looking forward to contacting many candidates from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, "he said.

The program includes: boat trips with Whale Samaná, conservation work guided by the CEBSE organization and a week-long trip to the places of interest of the Samaná peninsula.
